2025: the future is already here - Radio Valencia Cadena SER

We address some of the technological events that will take place this new year, with a Valencian focus: aerospace industry, quantum computers, 5G and 6G networks and a camp for young people who dream of becoming astronauts.

Valencia - Arturo Blay - Radio Valencia

In this special program broadcast on the first day of the year in Hoy por Hoy Comunitat Valenciana, and under the generic title of "2025: the future is already here", we wanted to talk to experts about some technological milestones that will take place this year in 2025, and that, in one way or another, have to do with our Comunitat. Thus, we talked about the importance of this year for the development of content that allows 5G networks, already fully developed, but not effectively exploited, as well as a glimpse of what will be the next step in communication networks: the 6G.

We also talked about the quantum computers that will be commercialized for the first time in 2025, although only for large research centers. And we discussed the state of health of the Valencian aerospace industry, which is experiencing great growth, and which by 2025 will see some Valencian companies making their debut in space missions, as they did last year at PLD Space in Elche.

Astronaut school

Our last guest was Carlos Sánchez, coordinator of Space Camp, the only camp in Spain that prepares young people from 10 to 17 years old for the future of space exploration.

Space Camp is located in Valencia, in the facilities of Valencia Innovation Capital, in its building "Las Naves". These weekly courses take place there during the summer, when schools and institutes finish. There, children and young space enthusiasts, or even those who dream of becoming astronauts, will be able to train as they do at NASA and ESA, as a real astronaut: flying real planes, experiencing the absence of gravity, building and launching rockets, and immersing themselves in space missions through virtual reality.
