Raquel Ibáñez, CEO of Escuela de Ciencia, among the women leading change in the Valencian Region

To celebrate International Women's Day, the newspaper Las Provincias has recognized women who are leading change in different areas in the Valencian Community, highlighting their role in sectors such as business, politics, culture and education. Among them is Raquel Ibáñez Peral, PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and CEO of Escuela de Ciencia, organizer of Space Camp Valencia.

In a interview published in this series of acknowledgements, Ibáñez shared her background and vision on the importance of science and technology education (STEM) from an early age. Escuela de Ciencia has been promoting STEM education for more than ten years through extracurricular activities, innovative activities and collaborations with institutions such as the Universitat Politècnica de València.

During the interview, the CEO of Escuela de Ciencia addressed the worrying gender gap in scientific-technological careers and the need to foster vocations in this field from childhood. "All girls and boys are little scientists by nature. The key is not to awaken their interest, but to prevent them from losing it over time," said Ibáñez.

One of the most outstanding projects promoted by Escuela de Ciencia is Space Camp Valencia, a camp where young people from 10 to 17 years old can experience firsthand what it is like to work in the aerospace sector. From building rockets to simulating space missions, the camp seeks to inspire new generations and bring them closer to the world of science and technology.

The presence of Raquel Ibáñez in this list of women leading change is a recognition of her work and commitment to STEM education and equal opportunities in access to scientific and technological knowledge. From Space Camp Valencia, we are proud to count on her leadership and to continue promoting initiatives that make a difference in the education of future generations.
