Girls want to be astronauts: the importance of science in childhood 🚀🔬

At Las Provincias have highlighted the story of Alejandra and Irene, two young girls passionate about science and technology. Alejandra, only 9 years old, already has her own YouTube channel, Pepa's laboratory, where she shares experiments and scientific curiosities. Irene, 11, loves mathematics, physics and programming, and remembers that her first experiment was a volcano with baking soda and vinegar.

However, the director of the organizers of Space Camp Valencia, Raquel Ibáñez, warns of a worrying problem: many girls lose interest in science when they move from primary to secondary school. The lack of references and environments that encourage their curiosity contribute to this gap.

At Space Camp Valencia, we want to change this reality. Our camp offers a space for children to explore science in a fun and practical way: rover programming, virtual reality, space simulations and engineering challenges. We believe that the best way to inspire scientific vocations is to offer immersive and exciting experiences.
